Commitment to Clients
  • Provide unbiased, evidence-based, and compassionate support to clients throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
  • Honor the rights of clients to make informed decisions about their care and advocate for their preferences when appropriate.
  • Refrain from offering medical advice, diagnosing conditions, or performing clinical tasks unless qualified and legally permitted to do so.
Inclusivity and Cultural Competence
  • Treat all clients with dignity, respect, and sensitivity regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or ability.
  • Continuously seek to expand knowledge and understanding of diverse cultural practices, traditions, and perspectives in perinatal care.
