Everything you want to know

What does a postpartum doula actually do?

Postpartum doulas support families in the weeks and months after birth. This includes newborn care, breastfeeding support, light household help, emotional support, and helping families adjust to their new normal.

Postpartum doulas focus on the whole family — supporting parents emotionally and practically, not just caring for the baby. We empower parents with skills and confidence rather than taking over.

No prior experience is required. The training covers everything you need, from newborn handling to family communication.

Yes — many doulas do. Our Combined Bundle offers both certifications at a discounted rate with extended mentorship.

Postpartum doulas typically charge $40-$80 per hour for daytime care and $400-$700 per overnight shift, depending on location and experience.

Some postpartum doulas offer overnight care.  The training prepares you for both daytime and overnight support.
